Departure around 7:30 am for Assisi, a tiny town in Umbria surrounded by walls built in the Middle Ages, famous for the Basilica of St. Francis. Enjoy an incredible lunch in Assisi before boarding the bus for Siena, a Medieval town known for its Palio horse race around the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. Continue on to Florence, where you will check into your hotel.

Pompeii Tour & Overnight Ferry to Palermo

Journey to the heart of the Campania region for an unforgettable visit to the ancient city of Pompeii. Led by a professional local guide, enjoy a fascinating walking tour of this remarkably preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. After the tour, board a ferry from Naples to Palermo for an overnight voyage across the sea. Dinner and breakfast are not included on the overnight ferry.

Taormina & Mount Etna

After breakfast, head off to Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy. Learn about volcanic activity and marvel at the old lava fields and black magma rock that comprises Etna’s landscape. If weather permits, you have a chance to climb to the summit (1800 m). After, return to Taormina, the beautiful and romantic town located on Mount Tauro. Return to Taormina in the afternoon and spend the rest of your day at leisure.
