One Photo

There is a cabinet in our house that holds my daughter’s school portraits. One for each year of primary school. Same backdrop, same girl, growing in ways that are impossible to see year to year and impossible to miss when you look at them all together.

One photo for one year. A year of learning, bruises, happiness and ordinary days that passed without anyone thinking to mark them.

That’s all you get. One photo, and the memories.

She is beautiful in every single one.
