Board The Ghan in Adelaide for an incredible showcase journey of inland Australia! As the train leaves the city heading for the Flinders Ranges and beyond. Once you’ve settled in, make your way to the classically styled Queen Adelaide Restaurant carriage for a chef prepared gourmet lunch showcasing regional flair and seasonal flavors. The afternoon is then yours to relax and explore. After a delicious dinner, you may join other guests for a few late-night drinks or head to your cabin to settle in early and await the sights of your first incredible outback sunrise the next day.

Alice Springs, Australia
Wake up with a cup of coffee and an unforgettable outback sunrise at Marla, a remote outpost 160 kilometers from the Northern Territory border that marks the start of the Oodnadatta Track. After a brief stop in Marla enjoy brunch and relax as we make our way to enjoy the iconic scenery of Alice Springs. Once you arrive, spend the afternoon at leisure by choosing some Off Train Excursions; off road mountain bike adventure, bird show at the Desert Park, a majestic camel ride across ochre land or an unforgettable helicopter flight over the beautiful Simpson’s Gap. Return to the train and join your fellow passengers in the Outback Explorer Lounge before freshening up for dinner and drinks.

Katherine to Darwin, Australia
Your day dawns in the tropical north so prepare yourself to experience one of the Top End’s most impressive natural wonders on a boat cruise along Nitmiluk Gorge or you can choose to gaze in wonder at towering sandstone cliffs as you cruise along the Katherine River. Another option is to spend the day with local first nation Aboriginal people, sharing their culture and learning to basket weave, spear throw or play an iconic, Didgeridoo! When back onboard, enjoy a nice lunch and relax for a few hours as you roll into the city of Darwin.
